Map Directions to Beacon Fell

The Fell is situated in the south west corner of the Forest of Bowland, offering an accessible location to conduct a range of countryside activities.

It lies between the cities of Preston and Lancaster, approximately 10 miles north of Preston and 16 miles south of Lancaster.

The Fell itself actually lies 2 miles south of the main range of hills in the Forest and as a result can easily be identified, appearing as a separate hill covered in trees.

Using motorways - If coming from further afield leave the M6 at junction 32 for the M55 and then immediately come off at junction 1 following the signs north along the A6 for Garstang, then continue with directions from Preston.

From Preston - Head north out of Preston along the A6 following signposts for Garstang. At the Broughton crossroads traffic lights turn right onto Whittingham Lane and then follow the brown tourism signs.

From Lancaster - Head south along the A6 following signposts for Preston. Shortly after Garstang the brown tourism signs start at a Shell garage. Follow these signs all the way to the Fell.

There are also brown tourism signs from Longridge and Chipping.

Although the signs are quite extensive it is always handy to have a good road map just in case.
